Finchley Walk-In Centre - Enter and View

We carried out an Enter and View visit to Finchley NHS Walk-In Centre – read our report below.

Our authorised representatives visited the centre, which provides unscheduled same-day appointments for adults and children with minor injuries and illnesses.

Many of the patients and visitors we interviewed told us that they were happy with the service provided at the centre. The Walk-In Centre has a spacious waiting room which was clean and well kept on the day of our visit. Interviewees described staff as ‘helpful’, ‘friendly’ and ‘nice’. Some injured patients mentioned that they were offered painkillers during triage and that this was helpful. Our recommendations, which are set out on p9, mostly relate to potential improvements to the waiting room.

We’re pleased to report that the centre is working with Community Health Partnerships (who run the hospital building), with a view to implementing a number of our recommendations on the reception area barrier, seating, signage and communication with patients about parking options.

We would like to thank the centre’s team for their support in arranging our Enter and View visit.
