The ‘Say NO to Abuse’ Safeguarding Adults Conference
Barnet’s annual Safeguarding Month gets underway at the beginning of November and runs throughout the month. The Barnet Safeguarding Adults Service User Forum is hosting a conference as part of Safeguarding month on Tuesday 22nd November, 10:00-13:30 at the Greek Cypriot Centre, Brittania Road, North Finchley N12 9RU. Lunch will be provided and there will be an opportunity to meet members of the Safeguarding Adults Board who will have stalls on the day.
It is a service user focussed conference where people will be able to find out more information, ask questions and meet staff from the police, health and social care.
You can take part in two of the following workshops:
1.Disability Hate Crime
What is disability hate crime and how you can report it, learn about the new reporting sites that have been set up across the borough.
2.Scams and burglary
Find out more about how to protect yourself and your home against scams, fraud and burglary.
Find out more about financial abuse and how to protect your finances. What is a Power of Attorney and the role of the Court of Protection.
4.Quality of care
Join a discussion group about what good care looks like and what we want from carers and what to do when things go wrong.
